In 1993, she completed her BA in Sociology at California State University, San Bernardino. She holds a Master’s degree from Tulane University in Social Work earned in 1994. She has been licensed as an independent Social Work Clinician since 1998. Since then she has completed 3 years of post-graduate work in the field of Social Work at Hunter College
She has had the privilege of working in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings working primarily with adolescents and adults. As a mental health counselor who brings 18 years of licensed experience, She uses an interactive and caring approach to build the trust necessary for a successful working relationship. Counseling sessions are guided by the individual needs of the client, and are non-judgmental and compassionate.
She uses a wide variety of theoretical perspectives within a clinical session which is eclectic, strength based and collaborative. Some of her areas of expertise and experience are working with severe and persistent mental illness, personality disorders, grief and loss, women’s issues, medical issues impacting emotional health in addition to depression and anxiety.
